Sacred Relationships in danger by the government!

The day our doctors report us to the federal government for anything including gun ownership or mental illness is a sad day in the American history and the beginning of communism. So many innocent individuals will be subject to federal government investigations. The constitution is in danger now. We need to think carefully about decisions that can change the course of history.

While I completely question the necessity of any kind of firearm in any civilized society, I also cannot imagine dismantling the fibers of a nation built on a foundation of individual freedom. We are all mourning for those families of Sandy Hook Elementary School, our hearts are broken and will remain so for them. Loss of life is unacceptable at any time for any reason. To use this incident to take aways the most fundamental rights to privacy between patient and doctor is appalling.

Addressing child development, child care, maternal leave, education, child abuse, parental violence, mental health funding, malnutrition, available health care, available psychiatric/psychological care for all and hundreds of other important long term solutions will most likely solve the problem from the core. Loosing our rights and our privacy is not the answer.

Alas, the less confidentiality, the more secrecy, the more shame, the more hidden disorders and no hope for the ones who truly need help. Doctor Patient relationship is sacred and it should remain so.  Health records are private and they should remain so. Not all mentally ill end up shooting people.

What is next? Government concentration camps for the devastated, the abused, the mentally ill, the schizophrenic, the bipolar, the depressed, and the suicidal? This is a shame for the United States. Please rethink this direction.
